Representatives from United Bank participated in a joint summit organized by footwear development project made by Ethiopia and the Footwear Distributors and Retailers of America (FDRA) held at UNECA Conference Center on Thursday September 29, 2016.

The full day conference that was made under the theme – “Ethiopia: The source for premium duty free footwear manufacturing,” entertained a wide array of issues concerning the challenges, opportunities as well as other pertinent matters including financial topics that are vital in making the most of the great potential that the country has in becoming the great hub of sourcing for footwear brands.

Representing United Bank Ato Degol Gossaye, Manager Credit Analysis & Appraisal Department made a brief remark at the conference concerning what the Bank can offer to players in the sector. Among others he mentioned the Bank’s readiness in terms of fulfilling the great demands of working capital needs that is currently faced by actors in the local footwear industry. The Bank also took a stand in a mini trade fair organized for the event and showcased some of the service offers by the Bank to participants. 

         

Several dignitaries including high ranking government officials, notable business personalities, representatives from the footwear sectors both from abroad and at home as well as members from the financial sector and other stake holders attended the event.
